Shoaib Akhtar was on cloud 9 after helping Kolkata defend a small total against Delhi. But against Mumbai Indians, the total of 67 was too less for Shoaib to defend.

Shoaib Akhtar started off great picking the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar, the master blaster. But this time things was different. It was Jayasuriya facing Akhtar next. Jayasuriya mauled Shoaib. Jayasuriya blasted Shoiab off to sixes and fours scoring 23 off Shoaib ’s one over, which was one third of the total Kolkata Knight Riders was defending. Captain Ganguly had to take Shoaib off immediately.

But this does not take anything away from the magical spell Shoaib bowled against Delhi, so good that the losing captain Virendra Sehwag had to say “This is the best spell of Twenty20 bowling I have seen”.

With the kind of batting performances Kolkata is putting up, Shahrukh Khan and Ganguly Dada will definitely need to rely on the Rawalpindi Express.
