In a shortened match by numerous rain delays the Kings XI Punjab defeated the Delhi Daredevils bu the D/L Method.

Having won the toss the Delhi Daredevils choose to bat first. G Gambhir made a qucikfire 40 in 28 balls. Virender Sehwag remained not out at 51 in 26 balls. Delhi Daredevils made 118 in 11 overs.

The Kings XI Punjab made a shaky start but Yuvraj Singh (23 in 8 balls), LA Pomersbach , unbeated at 25 in 12 balls and DPMD Jayawardene not out at 36 of 17 balls won the match for Punjab Kings XI. It was one six by Jayawardene which changed the equation by D/L method in favour of Punjab Kings XI. Otherwise the match would have remained tied without the six runs. Jayawardene was declared the Man of the Match.
