They beat Chennai Super Kings by 14 runs. The Bangalore Royal Challengers won the toss and decided to bat first. Captain Rahul Dravid scored 47 in 39 balls. The Bangalore Royal Challengers posted a low score of 126 runs. JA Morkel got 4 wickets for 32 runs.

The Chennai Super Kings opened well with a 60 runs opening partnership. But thereafter they lost wickets regularly and managed to score only 112 in the scheduled 20 Overs. The team collapsed with the fall of MS Dhoni and lost the match by 14 runs. Anil Kumble claimed 3 wickets for 14 runs and was adjudged the Man of the Match.
