Indiana Jones resurfaces at Cannes
Legendary whip yielding archaeologist adventurer Professor Indiana Jones returned to the screen at Cannes after a hiatus of 19 years.
Nineteen years has not dimmed his thirst for adventure, thrill and excitement as he lands in South America in search of El Dorado and a crystal skull in the movie titled, “Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”.
The archaeologist adventurer immortalized by actor Harrison Ford returns with a new adventure inspired by a real life Mayan legend about a crystal skull.
The forth version of the Indiana Jones legend rode into Cannes on Sunday, with star Harrison Ford, director Steven Spielberg and creator George Lucas.
Harrison Ford said on Sunday he was ready for a critics’ whipping over the latest chapter of the Indiana Jones saga, but believed the film revived the “pure joy” of a classic blockbuster.
“I’m not afraid at all. I expect to have the whip turned on me. It’s not unusual for something that is popular to be disdained by some people,” Ford said.
“I’m not really worried about it. I work for the people who pay to get in. They are my customers. My focus is on providing the best experience I can for those people.”
The Indiana Jones team landed in Cannes to wide applause. When director Steven Spielberg and producer George Lucas did the photo-op, the flashbulbs didn’t stop for a good ten minutes. The paparazzi screams only stopped when the team was escorted into the press conference.
