In the 51st IPL match the Bangalore Royal Challengers defeated the Deccan Chargers by 5 wickets with an over to spare.

The Deccan Chargers won the toss and choose to bat first. They got an excellent opening stand between A Gilchrist and HH Gibbs of 101 runs in 11.2 overs. However thereafter the Deccan Chargers innings collapsed and they scored 165 in twenty overs.

In the run chase the major contributors were Misbah-ul-Haq who made 34 in 28 balls, and JH Kallis, Rahul Dravid and CL White who all got an individual score of 31 runs. But it was B Akhil who hammered 27 runs in 7 balls that took them home. Bangalore Royal Challengers won the match by 5 wickets in 19 overs.

R Vinay Kumar of the Bangalore Royal Challengers was adjudged the Man of the Match for claiming 3 wickets for 27 runs.
