Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie splurge on French Mansion
With an eye on the twin children that they are expecting and to get some privacy from the paparazzi, Brad Pitt and wife, Angelina Jolie have purchased a magnificent French Chateau for a whopping $60 million.
It has 35 bedrooms, plus a vineyard, lake, forest and moat. The Brangelina kids Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and the soon-to-be-born twins are going to be playing house in high style.
“It’s called Chateau Miraval in a village called Brignol, which is near from Aix-en-Provence,” a source told E! News. “And it’s absolutely unbelievable.”
The stone walled terraced farmland has been replanted with 13 different varieties of olives. A stream that runs through the estate passes through hidden tunnels flows into the moat and fills the lake. Water is plentiful - there are 20 fountains.
The pre-Roman estate also boasts a swimming pool, billiards room, indoor pool, his-and-hers gyms, sauna and Jacuzzi and a huge banquet hall.
What Jolie and Pitt probably love most about their new house is its vast expanse and the surrounding foliage, which shields the family from the prying paparazzi telephoto lenses.
“No one will ever be able to get pictures of them relaxing at home, it’s just impossible,” says the source.
“Brad and Angelina are thrilled, they love the place and have already been furniture shopping to fill the place as it’s massive,” an insider told E! Online. “They’ve already spent almost another million on furniture and the whole family can’t wait to move in.”
The family intends to complete their move over the next three months. Other residents in the area include Johny Depp and Vanessa Paradis and U2 front man Bono.
