This defeat has knocked out the Mumbai Indians from the IPL. Delhi Daredevils get an entry in semi finals.

Rajasthan Royals won the toss and decided to field first. The famous Mumbai Indians openers, Jayasuriya and Tendulkar made a somewhat subdued opening. Jayasuriya was the first to fall at the score of 71. He made 38 in 37 balls. Tendulkar again put up a mediocre performance and made 30 of 34 balls. The saving grace for Mumbai Indians was a fine 24 in 7 balls by Takawale. Mumbai Indians managed a score of 145 runs in 20 overs.

In the reply the Rajasthan Royals lost five wickets after 77 runs. It appeared that Mumbai Indians were going to win the match. But the pair of NK Patel and RA Jadeja put up a match winning performance. Patel scored a super 40 of 29 balls and the Rajasthan Royals scored a victory on the last ball. Sohail Tanvir who got 4 wickets for 14 runs was declared the Man of the Match.
