Chennai Super Kings defeat Kings XI Punjab to enter IPL final
The second semi finals of the IPL also proved to be equally one sided as the first semi finals. Chennai Super Kings defeated the Kings XI Punjab by 9 wickets with 31 balls to spare.
The Kings XI Punjab won the toss and choose to bat first. JR Hopes was out in the second over when the score was 8. KC Sangakkara fell in the third over when the score was 11. The Chennai Super Kings bowlers did a fine job. Kings XI Punjab were restricted to 112 for 8 in 20 overs. Ntini, Gony and Morkel got a haul of 2 wickets each.
The Chennai Super Kings lost their first wicket at 14. After that Parthiv Patel and Suresh Raina put up a fine display and reached the target. Patel made 51 of 48 balls and Raina scored 55 of 34 balls. Raina had 4 boundaries and 4 sixes in his splendid knock. The Chennai Super Kings won the match with five overs and one ball to spare. M Ntini was declared the Man of the Match.
