Akshay Khanna is all excited about the release of his movie Mere Baap Pehle Aap in theatres this Friday.

Directed by comedy king Priyadarshan, the movie is a rib tickling comedy starring Akshay Khannna and Paresh Rawal as son and father.

After serious and thrilling roles in recent movies, Akshay Khanna is delighted to come back with a comedy.

He shares a wonderful rapport with Priyadarshan. “Apart from the storyline of Mere Baap being unique, I share a very good rapport with the director, Priyadarshan, even though our first project Doli Sajake Rakhna was a disaster. He complements me as an actor. Generally the trend is that if the first movie doesn’t do well, then actors don’t prefer to work with the director or vice versa but it was not the case with Priyadarshan. After four years, we worked together again and enjoyed the experience,” he said.

The story revolves around son trrying to set up a good match for his single father. In the process he to gets involved with his lady love played by Genelia D’ Souza.

About co-star Genelia D’Souza, Akshay said, “She is extremely sweet and a thorough professional. She fits the role. Unlike those who try to ape others, she has got her own style of acting”.

With regard to father and son, Akshay and Paresh had a roaring time acting together. But it was more work than play as they worked hard at the shooting.

“The two of us had the house on fire. We used to chat for long hours. Apart from that, there was no scope for fun on Priyadarshan’s sets as we only worked and shot on a very fast pace,”according to Akshay Khanna.

The verdict on the comedy will come this weekend as Mere Baap Pehle Aap debuts at the box office.
