In their first encounter in the Kitply cup being played in Bangladesh, India thrashed Pakistan by a huge 140 runs. The IPL appeared to have cast its shadow on the Kitply Cup.

India won the toss and choose to bat first. It was a return of the IPL heroes Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. Sehwag hammered 89 of 76 balls with 13 boundaries and one six. Gambhir hammered 62 runs in equal number of deliveries. Yuvraj Singh, MS Dhoni and SK Raina made 55,24 and 26 to take India to a mammoth total of 330.

Pakistan made a shaky start when they lost two quick wickets on the score of 14. Misbah ul Haq and Kamran Akmal made a noteworthy partnership of 55 runs. Thereafter the Pakistani batting never recovered and lost wickets at regular intervals. Pakistan were all out for 190 in 35.4 overs. P Kumar and PP Chawla claimed a rich haul of 4 wickets each. Sehwag was the Man of the Match.
