Lux Cosy Ads Banned
The Moral Brigade is in full swing again. This time the Lux Cosy Ad is under the scanner. Lux Cosy is a prominent brand for undergarments and thermals. Their advertisement features a semi clad male along with a female model and a dog.
The ad came under attack as vulgar and suggestive from various quarters. Following these complaints the Government has issued orders banning the telecast of this ad on all the TV channels.
Ministry of information and broadcasting in the notice has stated that the advertisement violates Rule 7 (8) of the Advertising Code prescribed under the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995. Exercising its power under Sub Section (3) of Section 20 of the Act, the ministry has prohibited transmission or retransmission of the advertisement.
All TV Channels have been advised to scrutinize their content carefully. VIP Frenchie was another brand of garments whose ads became controversial.
