One of the most exciting projects this season is Jaane tu, Ya Jaane Na the debut of actor Imran Khan and director Abbas Tyrewala.

Imran Khan is the nephew of Aamir Khan, the co-producer of the film with uncle Mansoor Khan.

Mansoor Khan is reminded of Aamir khan’s launch in QSQT while promoting Imran’s debut.He had to leave a semi retired life of farming in the hill station of Conoor and return to Bombay to take up the production of Jaane tu, Ya Jaane Na.

Director Abbas Tyrewala was excited to tie up with the legendary Mansoor khan.

Says Abbas, “I was ecstatic. Aamir Khan called me to say that there is only one person he trusted to produce the film, apart from himself and before he could say it, I just knew it.

I knew it was Mansoor Khan! I was jumping with joy. I loved the way he made youth look in all his films. Whether it was QSQT, Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander, Akele Hum Akele Tum or Josh, his films were so fresh and he always had his actor as a boy hero instead of a macho man. One gets to learn so much with just being around a man like him.”

Mansoor Khan says of the experience,” Jaane Tu… was a revitalizing experience for me-to brush-up on old skills and learn new rules. I first countered, then, gradually absorbed Abbas’s unique way of instructing his actors and playing out the scene for the camera. Though it seemed to break some rules in my head, they brought amazing results. So what if he does not like to make shot breakdowns!

Now the movie is almost finished and he quips,” And now the film is done and it is time to write a producer’s note. Well let me tell you, the defining moment of a film is the final cut. And having watched that I am glad I was pulled out of the hills to associate with a young film team that has effectively translated a wonderful script into a memorable film.”
