An unlikely pair, Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma are to star opposite each other in a forthcoming movie directed by newcomer, Ayaan Mukerjee.

Both the actor and actress have heavy cinema lineage behind them- Ranbir being the scion of the legendary Kapoor khandan and Konkona the daughter of famed director Aparna Sen.

But they are as different as they can get. Ranbir is the chocolate hero of the romantic comedy genre. Konkona is the character actress with two national awards for acting to her credit.

So aren’t Ranbir and Konkona coming together like the synthesis of Venus and Mars? “That’s exactly the point. In this Mumbai-based romance about urban relationships, the director needed a pair that seems incompatible. The film is about seeking a level of compatibility in a world gone distinctly out of control.” said a source.

Director Ayaan Mukerjee is actress Kajol’s cousin who assisted assisted Ashutosh Gowariker in “Swades” and Karan Johar in “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna

He approached Karan Johar with the script and he loved it so Karan Johar’s Dharma productions is producing the film.

Equally appreciative were Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma who agreed to the project immediately.

So we can expect the sparks to fly with such distinctive actors paired together.
