Ajay Devgan’s cousin and two-time director, Anil Devgan arrives with his new movie Haal-E- Dil.

It is romantic story with a fresh twist, according to him.

When faced with a question whether it is a copy of Dilwaale Dulhaniya Le jaayenge , Anil says,” All love stories are similar. Just because I have shot one song in yellow fields doesn’t mean that my film is a copy. Haal-E-Dil has nothing in common with DDLJ. DDLJ is a classic and if anyone compares my film to that, I am honoured.”

Apparently the cast was chosen after a rigorous round of screen tests. It resulted in the signing of producer Kumar Mangat’s daughter, Amita Pathak, Adhyayan Suman, son of actor Shekhar Suman and Nakuul without any filmi background.

The actors were given informal training sessions. “Before the film started, my actors went to theatre director Om Katare for help on their performances. He would give them roles from his plays, and that’s how they learnt. Plus, I gave them specific instructions not to be mechanical.” said Anil.

The music of Hal-E-Dil is its highlight with many directors working on the songs. “The music of all my films is good. I take special interest in my film’s songs. That’s why we have four music directors on board — Vishal Bhardwaj has composed Jaan Ve, Anand Raj Anand has scored music for Oye Hoye and Jeeta Hoon, Raghav Sachar has done Rang and Khwaish and Pritam has done the Punjabi disco number, Aag Lage Aaj Kal De Fashion Nu”, says Anil.

To top it all, Ajay Devgan and wife Kajol are making a special appearance in a song called Oye Hoye.

Anil Devgan needs to put behind his two directorial misses ( Raju Chacha, Black mail) and hope that Haal-E- Dil works magic at the box office.
