Preity Zinta back in action
After an exhausting season with the IPL matches, actress and sporting czarina, Preity Zinta has retuned to home turf, Mumbai where she gets busy with movies again.
Regarding her experiences with IPL she had to suffer rumours about her professional and personal life like parting with beau Ness Wadia and cozying up with captain Yuvraj Singh.
Priety who is co-owner of the Kings XI Punjab IPL team with Wadia, says,” “I had left my image as a film star behind and donned a new role when the IPL began. I was never dressed as a film star. Since I was the only woman among the team owners, I wanted people to take me seriously. I am no Barbie doll and such rumours, which are normally, the order of the day on a film set was very demeaning to me as a woman. “
Now that IPL fever has died down, Preity has taken a small break to rejuvenate herself before returning to the tinsel world. She has got busy with many projects- and some of them are not pure commercial cinema but substantial roles in the Art genre.
“I have four back-to-back releases this year starting with Jahanu Barua’s ‘Har Pal’ with Dharmendra and Shiney Ahuja, ‘Heroes’ with Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, ‘The Last Lear’ with Amitabh Bachchan, Arjun Rampal and Shefali Shah and Deepa Mehta’s ‘Heaven on Earth’,” Zinta said.
She said her forthcoming releases are a natural progression for her from a mainstream commercial film actor to doing meaty roles with substance.
”The NRI bracket has been associated with my films because all of them were shot abroad and it was killing me. Hence, I decided to go desi in my forthcoming films,” she added
