A spokeswoman for Madonna denied reports that U.S. pop star Madonna is divorcing her husband, British filmmaker Guy Ritchie.

A statement from Liz Rosenberg has denied recent media speculation that the marriage is ending.

Rumors that the London-based couple planned to split have been circulating for months, fueled most recently by reports that the singer had lined up Fiona Shackleton, a lawyer for Paul McCartney in his bitter divorce from Heather Mills.

But celebrity website TMZ has disputed the veracity of Rosenberg’s comments. The website reports that in October 2006 Rosenberg said Madonna “has not adopted a baby”, despite reports that she has.

Madonna, 49, and Ritchie, 39, married in December 2000 at Skibo Castle in northeast Scotland. They met at a party hosted by ex-Police front man Sting and his wife Trudie Styler.
Their son Rocco was several months old on their wedding day.Madonna also has an adopted son David Banda from Malawi and a daughter Lourdes from an earlier relationship.
