The CBI has now cleared the shroud of mist surrounding this sensational double murder case which has rocked the nation since the last two months. The CBI came up with a possible sequence of events in the murder case. A third accused, Vijay Mandal, another domestic help in the area was placed under arrest.

In all likelihood following was the sequence of events.
• Hemraj, Krishna, Rajkumar and Vijay Mandal were all friends. Krishna had a grudge against Dr Talwar for having insulted him in public.
• On 16 May they all got together in Hemraj’s Room and consumed alcohol.
• The four men then went to Arushi’s room and tried to sexually abuse her. Dr and Mrs Talwar sleeping in the adjacent room could not hear anything due to the din of the air conditioner.
• Arushi was hit on her head with a hard object. Hemraj protested the happenings and was taken to the terrace. He was killed there. The trio later returned to Arushi’s room and slit her throat.
• Krishna spread rumours about relations between Arushi and Hemraj to mislead the investigators.

The CBI did not find any evidence against Dr Talwar and have released him. The hard work by CBI seems to have paid off.
