Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, a light hearted teenage romantic comedy has turned out to be this year’s biggest hits so far.

Produced by Aamir Khan and launching his nephew, Imran Khan in the lead role, the film got a big buzz as it released. Aamir Khan likened its success to that of his debut film, Qayamat se Qayamat Tak. At a press meeting, Aamir, said, “Jaane Tu… got a response as strong as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (Aamir’s debut film). It got an opening which only Shah Rukh (Khan) or Hrithik’s films get.”

The fresh pair of Imran Khan and Genelia D’ Souza and delightful cameos by Ratna Pathak Shah, Naseeruddin Shah and Paresh Rawal all added to the suucces of the movie.
Aamir said that director and script writer Abbas Tyrewala was the main creative force behind this most acclaimed film.
“The only thing I did for the film is that when Abbas brought me the script I said it is a great script. Go with it,” he said.But Abbas responded at once and said, “Aamir is being too humble. He gave me various suggestions from time to time which were very useful to me.”

When asked whether the Aamir Khan name added to the brand value of the film, Aamir replied modestly,” I have always lived up to the expectations of the faith people have in me. My name can bring people to the film initially but after that, the film has to speak for itself.”
