Nashik. The Police had managed to clear many bottle necks in the city during the summer. They had cleared the congested localities of Ravivar Karanja and Dahipool of all hawkers and unauthorized constructions.

Off late the police has been quite inactive. The hawkers as well as unauthorized shop keepers have taken full advantage of the laxity in the police activity. The same very encroachments that had been cleared by the police a month earlier have resurfaced. Because of this driving on the MG Road has become a nightmare.

Senior Police Officials including Mr Himanshu Roy had taken personal interest to remove the encroachments. The vigilance appears to have been slackened because of monsoons. Many complaints have been lodged at the Corporation. Officials of the Corporation have stated that strict action will be initiated against perpetual defaulters.
