Yesteryear actress Sridevi has refused a plum offer costarring Amitabh Bachchan in a Yash Raj venture.

Apparently, hubby Boney Kapoor had qualms about the Yash Raj productions project as the right one to mark Sridevi’s return to the marquee. He wanted to relaunch his wife in one of his own productions. According to a source,”Yash Chopra and Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor had a chat. Boney told Yash that he too was keen to re-launch his wife Sridevi in his own production and it would be better if Yash cast some other actress instead.”

Apparently, Amitabh Bachchan was quite keen about doing a Yash Chopra film with Sridevi. The source adds, “Amar Singh tried to convince Boney to let Sridevi act in Yash’s film. Boney still did not relent.”Yash Chopra was so keen on the subject that after Sridevi refused, he has put the project on the backburner.

Amitabh Bachchan and Sridevi had earlier starred together in Inquilab, Aakhri Raasta, and Khuda Gawah and all the three films did reasonably well. Sridevi had disappeared from the big screen after Judai(1997). Her comeback film is anticipated with great fervor.
