Engineering Students invent super mileage car

Eight students of the RVCE Bangalore have been working tirelessly for the last few years on achieving a breakthrough in automobile technology. Their efforts seem to be yielding fruit. International car designer, Dilip Chhabria, unveiled their car in Bangalore.

Nishant Sarawgi was the leader of the team. Initial efforts were to achieve a super mileage car. But later the effort changed to innovation. The team leader Nishant Sarawgi said, “There were a lot of changes, right from the engine, tires, chassis and body. We kept making constant improvements to the design of the car to make it more aerodynamic.”
The team claims to have achieved a mind-boggling mileage of 180 Km/liter. The team is not satisfied yet. They claim that the mileage can be increased to 500 km per liter. Research and development in the current year is aimed towards achieving this objective.
The team will be taking part in the Shell-Eco Marathon in UK next year. Funding the venture is also proving to be a major problem. Tantra Infosolutions, CD Adapco and Chameleon Motors are some of the companies that have funded the project.

  1. this is big achievment for the automobile engineering through indian engineers you have done best of efforts for success in terms of team works
    congratulation for success

  2. If Proper Funding is Done And Plagiarisation of Work is prevented, The Country can see many more Innovations which Might then even be Practicable and Commercially Viable.

  3. Is this a joke? I would never prefer to drive a car like this. Please do not publish such photograhs of the car. It will reveal what a waste of time this is for the sake of publicity. Science is of no use if it cannot be used in mass.

  4. Great work brothers, we will rock on earth.

  5. well done guys, but sorry to be an little bit too eplosive, do you thing the only thanks will be enough, to know that some of sutdent from our nations have made a special discovered engineeiring process, imagine if some guys and ladies from the marketing financials students, are helping them to sell and developp they process to the cars manufacturer, imagine the positive impact for all the researchers students in ours nations, to know that they all working together to achieve theirs own life goals targets for the indepedancy of each others.

  6. You must be kidding to call a coffin car mind boggling. Do you think the rest of india is abode of fools ??? Think twice before you publish such kind of crap for the sake of cheap publicity. I can very well make out that RVCE wants to project itself with the fools who have made this breakthrough to achieve good placement in some good-for-nothing companies.
The real talent has left india and are spread across European, american communities.

I just cant imagine myself driving the car. Also, i wouldnt want to sit on top of the car and drive.

    500 KM/Liter ??? hahaha…i dont want to reach bangalore - bombay in a year.

Please STOP publishing such stupid, useless and cheap gimmicks in the future. You will do a lot Good to the mass.

    Thanks and bye,
    You know who it is.

  7. This is really a big achiement but how much practical is this car ?

  8. It’s a great achievement for Indians as we are in front of Other nations. So we have to develop skills more than what we have today for upcoming future.I have also seen their achievement on Television & as they are saying that they can made cars having high efficiency of 500 kms in 1 ltr. so I’m looking for it in upcoming future.

  9. Congrats.

Lets just hope that the Engineers stay in India and continue their good effort instead of getting sold to a foreign company which will in turn sell the product for 1000 times the research investment back to indians.

This is a very good and necessary progress in this juncture of time when Oil price is impacting Indian and Global economy very heavily.

Thanks for all the deeds and All the Best for the future :-)

  10. Congratulations for the gr8 achievement.

  11. Congratulations for the achievements so far made. India and its citizens essentially in need of such Invensions and innovations, without which we can’t grow economically. Our oil import and its effect on the economy is not at all allowing us to move faster.

Implement the achievement made so far so that the people and the country get the benefits thereunto. Continue to keep the efforts for more and more milage targeted reserch and development to maximise the adventage of the devices.

With much regards, appreciation and congratulations to the team,
    Yours etc.

  13. Why is that Indians frequently claim to have achieved super-innovations, and then no body hears anything about it, or when dug out find there is nothing new done. There are many examples to it - bio-petrol from x-plant, 200+ kmpl car, etc.
Is it that misreporting and awarding contract prizes has become so pervasive in India, that we have stopped to evaluate any extent of claims just at the prospect of some underhand money dealing.
Just think. Is this an electric car still consuming petrol at 200kmpl, when it should not have? Or something similar.

  14. Big achievement … BUT .. BUT .. BUT … If it is only to showcase possibilities it is not enough. The concept should be patented to create a feasible car that can actually be driven on city roads. Please get this concept to the CONSUMER … India desperately needs this innovation. So does the world !!!!

  15. Really a great work… But Isn’t 2HP for a car too low even for a normal 100cc bike?

  16. No technology details? I guess this news will be ignored as much as it has gained publicity

  17. Dear Sarawgi,
Congratulations to you and your team for aciveing the goal of India’s fuel problem . It is a great achievement on your part at this time of crisis. We need people like you to take the country to heights. I salute you for the great work done. Wish you all the success.

  18. Applause!!!!!! Great achievement………………..now to see how far it goes, RVCE-Bangalore, we are watching……….is this only for publicity????? and good placement for the achievers…………..we will track down in the next academic year on te developments…………..can somebody tell em where will i get teh technical sheeet for this to understand????

  19. I don’t understand, anybody could be able to sit in this kind of car and drive. How many persons can sit in this car?Is it feasible to drive on the road?I’m worried if it gets accidently under any truck or bus.(since bus driver, truck driver won’t be able to view the car)

  20. Hey all,

I am a part of this Project team to have developed thae car. Thanks a lot for all your good wishes and responses. With the sort of encouragement we are getting i am certain we will be in a position to double the mileage we are getting in the upcoming months.

With a competition perspective this car was built hence most of you would find it not so practical on Indian roads. However i believe lighter and greeners cars are the way forward. Therefore advancements on Fuel Injection and Engine Management Systems coupled with Green Technology such as Hybrid and Fuel Cells will lead to a next generation of Concept cars.

Please feel free to mail me at blitz.bharat@gmail.com, I am more than open to suggestions and critisism.

    Thank You
