Imran Khan who has become the darling of masses with his college boy debut in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, will play a different role in his next film, Kidnap.

In Kidnap, he plays a character with shades of grey. He plays a person who kidnaps the daughter of a character played by Sunjay Dutt.

Imran denies that Kidnap was his original debut movie. But it is true that Kidnap got delayed due to Sanjay Dutt’s jail sentence.

Asked why he chose such a daring departure in roles, Imran Khan said,” When I read the script, I realized that the character is so drastically different from the first one, that I would be a fool to let it go.” But what if audience rejects this role? “You can’t second guess the audience”, he says.

He sounds a true professional when he says,” You have to make your own creative decisions.”

The film is directed by Sanjay Gadhvi, the director of Dhoom series who had a falling out with the Yash Raj group after Dhoom 2. Ashtvinayak films is producing Kidnap.
