Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif are hoping to rock the box office this weekend with the release of their blockbuster Singh Is Kinng.

After touching audiences a rustic desi boy in last year’s hit “Namastey London”, Akki returns as Happy Singh, a gullible, innocent and accident-prone guy in romantic comedy. Directed by Aneez Bazmi the movie has been booked to record collections already.

The film’s USP is Akshay and Katrina Kaif, who teamed up in two of last year’s biggest hits - “Namastey London” and “Welcome”. Shot in Punjab, Australia and Egypt, the film’s music is already doing well. American rapper Snoop Dogg features in the movie wearing a turban. Apart from Pritam Chakraborty, Britain’s popular bhangra band RDB has also composed a song for the film.

Katrina Kaif also has high hopes for the movie. ‘Singh is Kinng‘ is going to be great fun. We have all really worked hard. The comedy and the action are exceptionally good, Music fits the theme. I believe it’s going to be Aneez’s best film. I have prayed, hoped and wished that the audience love what they see,” she says.

There is an interesting story how the title and the concept of the movie came into being. Apparently the credit goes to Akshay Kumar who recounts,” I was traveling in Jaipur and I read a catchy phrase on the back of a truck. .I immediately called up Vipul Shah and told him that we have to make a film with this title. We had no cast, no story, no director, but everything fell in place once we got the film’s name.”
