Abhinav Bindra wins India gold at Olympics !
Abhinav Bindra won India its first ever individual Gold medal in Beijing at the Olympic 10m air rifle event. The final round went to the last shot and Abhinav finally won the event with 700.5 points.
A medal in this event was not completely unexpected. Abhinav Bindra had broken the Olympic record last Olympic but failed to win a medal. Bindra was 4th in the qualifiers. He won the the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna for 2001-2002. An MBA degree holder, Abhinav is the CEO of Abhinav Futuristics.
India ’s best ever performance at the individual level before this was double trap shooter performance by Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore who won India the silver medal four years back at Athens. The last gold medal India won was in 1980 in hockey at Moscow.
Indian Olympic Association President Suresh Kalmadi was ecstatic : “He is the best shooter in the world and I think his is a morale boosting feat for everyone in the contingent.” This surely places India high in the medal tally table, this being the 12th gold awarded in this year’s Olympic. Surely, all Indians are proud today of Bindra’s achievement and hope this is just the new beginning. Let us congratulate Bindra and all the hardworking Indian athletes who are trying their best to uphold the Indian flag at the Olympics.

It’s a great personal achievement for Abhinav and also for India. However what is Suresh Kalmadi up to, he should know that its because of politicians like him, India is a pathetic participant in Olympic games despite of being second most populous country.
we are the winners of the world
but winners r at their rest one waked up the country that we also in competition
by winning a gold and made me to be prepared for the future Olympics
all heros lets give a great hail to our first hero of this Olympics

Dear Abhinav Bindra,
I dreamed many a times that some Indian should win an olymic gold medal. May be my dream is about more than 32 years old and i thought may be i as a successful sports doubles badminton player at the age of 12 could not do it and may be my son, i could train in sports to win an olympic gold medal. However my son is not a talented sports person but an academic kid.
Therefore you with your tremendous hard work, patience, perseverence and the zeal to be the best in the world and to defeat the best in the world has translated my dream and millions of other Indians into realty. There have been great Indian sportsman and they have been the best in the world. However you have done and brought happiness and joy to thousands of Indians like me that no Guru, saint or Viveikanand or any human in Indian history has brought.
I wish you , your happy smiling father that i saw on television and your family the best of health, peace, happiness and prosperity. May you bring more pride, joy, happiness by your achievements in future and may God give you a 100 year life filled with happines. Indians for ages will always remember you for your achievement
Regards/harish sharma
