Saina Nehwal storms into quarter finals
Saina Nehwal stormed into the quarter finals of the Women’s Singles Badminton Championships at the Beijing Olympics. She upset fourth seed Chen Wang of Hong Kong 21-19, 11-21 and 21-11.
Saina did extremely well to defeat the World No 5 and the No 4 seed at the tournament. It was a very closely fought match with the first game leveling to 19 points each. Saina took the next two points to take the game.
Chen Wang took the lead in the second game to level the match at one game all. However Saina came back strongly in the decider and took the first six points. There after it was a keenly tough call for the World No 5 to level the scores. Saina wrapped up the third game at 21-11 to win a place in the quarterfinals. A win here will ensure at-least a bronze medal for her.
