Jade Goody the British Tabloid celebrity has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. As such she has left the Bigg Boss show and returned to England to pursue treatment.

Jade Goody, a dental assistant first hit headlines in the original British show Big Brother where she attacked fellow participant Indian actress Shilpa Shetty with racist remarks. Shilpa had garnered so much sympathy that she went on to win the show and became famous and popular.

Jade Goody had recently arrived in India to take part in the second season of the Indian spin off, Bigg Boss in order to shed her racist image. It is also rumored that she was being paid a hefty amount to star in the show. The first episode of the show was a super success with record viwership, according to trade watchers.

Now Goody who has been diagnosed with Cancer leaves the show, mission unaccomplished,. Goody received the news Monday while she was being filmed in the confession room of “Bigg Boss,” and immediately made plans to return home, said Sonia Huria of Colors, the Indian channel broadcasting the show.

Shilpa Shetty who is now hosting Bigg Boss expressed sympathy for Jade . “I was really sad when I heard the news,” Shetty wrote in a text message to The Associated Press. “It’s a tough time for her and I hope she is able to cope with this pain
