Privacy ensured for Internet Explorer 8 users
In an attempt to secure privacy for the Internet Explorer users, Microsoft planned to incorporate a feature viz private browsing mode in the next version of its web browser Internet Explorer 8.Satya Nadella, senior vice president of Microsoft’s search, portal and advertising platform group, announced the decision.
This mode will enable the erasing of history, cache and personal information entered or shared by users.Besides,it will alert users in case they are being tracked. Two new patent applications have been registered by Microsoft to manage the amount of information the browser will log and they are named ‘Cleartracks‘ and ‘Inprivate‘ respectively.According to the Microsoft filing,’Cleartracks‘ involves computer programs for deleting search history after accessing Web sites and ‘Inprivate‘ involves computer programs for disabling the history and file caching features of a web browser as well as a computer software for notifying a user when others are tracking Web use and for controlling the information others can access about such use.
It may be pointed out that other browsers like Apple\’s Safari possesses this feature since 2005.The new version of Internet Explorer with the private browsing mode will reportedly be released in the last part of this year.
