Salman Khan stops smoking for movie
Salman Khan pays his respect to all religions and for his latest movie, Heroes, he decided to refrain from smoking while dressed up as a Sikh.
Salman Khan respects the Sikh religion and is aware of the fact that their religion does not permit Sikhs to smoke. Therefore, in the movie where he plays the character of a Sikh, he has stopped puffing up.
Vikas Kapoor manager of Salman Khan who is also the producer of Heroes, said, , “Salman respects all religion and follows them religiously. He knew that Sikhs generally don’t smoke as they are prohibited by their religion. Thus taking that into consideration Salman decided not to smoke during the shoot of this film.”
He also revealed that that though Salman Khan is a chain smoker, he never smoked when he was in his turban get up. “I remember sometimes he used to spend 10 hours in the same get up but didn’t smoke at all. Salman did it out of respect for the Sikh religion. Apart from his attire, Salman also grew his beard to make his get up look real. His respect for the turban made him stay away from cigarettes.” Said Vikas.
“Heroes’, set to release early next year, is the story of two boys who embark on an adventurous road trip from Delhi to Chandigarh and then from Manali to Ladhakh. Besides Salman, the flick stars Vatsal Sheth, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Mithun Chakraborty, Sohail Khan, Preity Zinta, Dino Morea, Amrita Arora and Riya Sen.
