If you thought Shah Rukh has to combat with only the rest of Khans at the box office here is news, he has a formidable opponent in latest superstar, Akshay Kumar.

Akshay Kumar who delivered a few hits has consolidated his super star position with the good showing of his latest pic, Singh is Kinng. It has taken a record opening, which has outshone the opening of Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster Om Shanti Om.

The star battle has started out with Singh is Kinng versus Om Shanti Om but the coming months will see more head to head clashes. There are at least 4 movies lined up for release in the coming six months.

First to be released is Shah Rukh Khan’s home production ‘Billoo Barber’ starring Irrfan Khan where Shah Rukh plays a small role. The movie release would clash with Akshay Kumar’s ‘Chandni Chowk to China’.

The next for Shah Rukh Khan would be ‘Rab Ne Bana De Jodi’ which would bring him back with his ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ and ‘Mohabbatein’ director, Aditya Chopra. Meanwhile, Akshay enthralls in Sajid Nadiadwala’s, ‘Kambakth Ishq’ where he stars opposite Kareena Kapoor and Sylvester Stallone. Again, that won’t be an end to the war since Khan’s ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’ is all set to release in the same period.

The Battle of the Box Office will be interesting to watch.
