On Wednesday, Bloomberg News published an incomplete obituary for CEO of Apple Inc, Steve Jobs who happens to be hale and hearty. The obituary essentially outlined Steve Jobs‘ career and accomplishments. It was immediately retracted once it was realised that the obituary was an error. It was stated that “An incomplete story referencing Apple Inc. was inadvertently published by Bloomberg News at 4:27 p.m. New York time today.”

According to a Bloomberg spokesperson, “This was a routine update of a biography by the obituary department, meant for the internal system and not meant for publication. It was momentarily posted on the external wire, in error, and immediately deleted.”

Mr Jobs’ tryst with pancreatic cancer sometime back lent credibility to the news till it was retracted. Besides, there were speculations as to his well being because of his emaciated appearance at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June this year.
