Rock On and Phoonk, the two new releases have got a good response at the box office with nearly 90-100% opening.

Rock On is another feather to the cap of Farhan Akthar who debuts as actor. Phoonk is a much-awaited hit from the stable of Ram Gopal Varma who has had a string of flops recently.

In contrast Bobby Deol’s Chamku had a 10% opening.

Rock On had a houseful performance at Multiplexes and it attracted a lot of young crowd. Phoonk has done well in all centers, urban and rural.

Ram Gopal Varma stands vindicated with Phoonk which was panned by critics. He was pining for such a massive hit after Rangeela and Company.
