Nokia introducing unlimited music downloads
While taking on the iPhone the No 1 mobile handset manufacturer, Nokia, is planning a major foray into online music. A handset that will allow unlimited music downloads after the user has paid a fixed fee is on the cards.
It is believed that Nokia has signed a deal with Carphone Warehouse to distribute the music. It will provide access to 2.1 million tracks. Songs from Universal, Sony BMG and Warner labels will be available.
The new “comes with music phone” may challenge the itunes by Apple or the present system of offering music downloads from web portals. The phone is likely to be released in the United Kingdom by 02 October 2008. Such a service is being offered by Orange in France.
The phone is likely to cost upto £300.
