Soha Ali Khan returns with ‘99′
Soha Ali Khan returns to the screen with new movie ‘99’, after a short hiatus since Khoya Khoya Chand.
The curiously named movie “99”, the debut project of People Pictures, will also star ensemble cast of Kunal Khemu , Boman Irani, Cyrus Broacha, Simone Singh, Mahesh Manjarekar and Vinod Khanna,
The flick will be directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, who earlier directed short-titled movies including ‘Shor’ and ‘Falvors.’ ‘99’ is being made on a budget of Rs 100 million and has been written by Sita Menon, a former rediff.com staff member.
‘99’ is the journey of two different men in two different cities, who want to break away from their boring life, and make it big.
Asked about the unique title of the movie, Soha Ali Khan explained,” Yes, the movie’s name is very different and unique. The movie is named ‘99’ because it is the story of the year 1999. Besides, there is another reason for this title. Hypothetically, if life is a cricket match, then the characters of the movie are stuck at the score of 99, and are striving hard to reach their century. The different twists and turns in the plot make it difficult for the characters to score their century, it is a very interesting situation in which the characters are stuck!
After 99, People Pictures will move on to other projects like Click, Marry and the Sanjay Dutt-starrer Charles and I.
