Shiney Ahuja believes strongly that acting is a talent gifted by God and he is blessed amply.

Asked on how he gets into the skin of the characters he plays, he says,” I don’t have any such preparations for the roles I enact. I read about the character and try to get into the skin of it and draw a picture of the character; this makes things easy for me”

He adds,” You just have to have them in your mind and then just go with the flow. It’s just the question of finding the key inside you and starting from the right point. I strongly believe that talent is something that’s God gifted. As an actor, one should know as to which role needs to be rehearsed and which not.”

Shiney Ahuja points out that starring with newcomer actresses has proved lucky for him. “Actually all these lovely new faces have been very lucky for me. Be it Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi opposite Chitrangada or Gangster where I was cast opposite Kangana. Even in Hijack , I am paired opposite Kaveri Jha. She is quite a talented actress, ” he says.

Shiney says that he is very selective about scripts, so he is not going to be visible in too many projects. “I am a die-hard fan of good scripts as they are the most important factor in my selection of a film. When the script is read out, if it lacks depth and quality, I don’t accept the project. I don’t want to commit myself to any sort of project where the script is not ready,” he says.

Shiney Ahuja also says he loves being the darling of critics. He says,” They have really helped me groom as an actor.”
