Lenovo has released three new notebooks for small and medium businesses. They are the SL 300, SL 400 and SL 500 notebook PCs. This is the first time that Lenovo has made available its Think brand to small and medium businesses.

The laptops are charecterised by stylish looks and glossy exteriors. They use the Centrino 2 processor with and optional blu-ray players. Wi Fi, Ethernet and optional Blutooth connectivity are available. The hard drives have been provided air bags as protection to cushion accidental dropping. The SL 400 features a 14.1 inch screen and the SL 500 has a 15.4 inch screen. The laptops are likely to hit the market by next month. The pricing is likely to be upwards of Rs 45,000.

Amar Babu, managing director, Lenovo India, commented, “The SMB segment is one of the fastest growing segments in India. A recent study reveals that Indian SMBs spent US$ 6.6 billion on IT in 2007-08, which is around 30 percent of the total IT spend in India. It is this huge business opportunity that we are tapping into, with the ThinkPad SL series.”
