iPhone 2.1 version expected to make iPhone much better
Coming soon to an iPhone near you the latest update to the iPhone OS, the version 2.1. While this sounds much fancier but to the iPhone users this is one glimmer of hope that this iPhone update will make the phone live upto the expectations that were set initially.
Missed calls, apps hanging the phone, safari crashing, calender issues are some of the problems iPhone users will hope get fixed. The problem with the iPhone crashing and some times going to a restore mode is that the basic phone functionality also goes down. So for example, when I was driving the other day and tried “Eric Deli”’s official website on safari, it crashed the iPhone. The “Connect to iTunes” screen was displayed and I had to live without the phone till I could come back home. On plugging it to the iTunes, it had to be restored and I lost all my data. It was just 2 days I had an iPhone and did not backup.
Even the restore is not quick and hoping the iPhone update will do a good job. Speaking of job, Steve Jobs announced : “It’s a big update. It fixes lots of bugs. You’ll get fewer call drops, you will get significantly improved battery life for most customers. We have fixed a lot of bugs where [when] you have a lot of apps on the phone you’re not gonna get some of the crashes that we’ve seen.” Jobs also said that iPhone 2.1 would dramatically cut the time it takes users to synchronize their phones to iTunes.
So lets wait till friday and see how the update help. Its not so bad but after all, the iPhone is supposed to be the best hand held device of our times.
