Aamir Khan has taken a dig at his rival actor Shahrukh Khan in some light hearted
banter while endorsing Samsung Mobile phones, calling him “Number two”.

Aamir and Shahrukh Khan have enjoyed a cold war at sorts over the last decade as each star sought to dominate the Bollywood box office. They have enjoyed taking potshots at each other at whatever opportunity they get, in a humorous vein.

The latest is when Aamir quizzed about the direct competition between his endorsing Samsung mobile phones poised against SRK’s endorsing the Nokia brand, he quipped, “ Shahrukh prefers being Number two .”

With this the Khan rivalry is out in the open of sorts. While SRK is the biggest star in Bollywood, Aamir has always paid attention to meaningful cinema rather than focusing on the box office.

Shahrukh can himself has not been one to mince words and enjoyed taking digs at Aamir on shows like Koffee with Karan. In his last appearance on the chat show, when host Karan Johar asked him, “If you wake up one morning and you realize that you’ve turned into Aamir, you would….” SRK shot back: “I would tell the world that Shahrukh is the better actor.”

The actors have always hid their rivalry behind jokes and smiles. When Aamir decaled that he does not believe in the legitimacy of film awards except the National award, this cast aspersions on other winners of awards. So SRK quipped at these words,” Aamir Khan only goes for the Oscars”.

The Taare Zameen Par actor-director denied that he was joining Indian Cricket League or will own any cricket team in the future like SRK, who owns the Kolkata team for Indian Premier League.

“I am not purchasing any team but as a fan, I love to watch cricket,” Aamir said.

The mobile phone brands have roped in other actors to endorse their business: Abhishekh Bachchan for Motorola and Hrithik Roshan for Sony Erricson.
