The famous filmstar of yesteryears, Mrs. Jaya Bachchan landed herself in a soup as her comment at the audio release function of ‘Drona‘ on Saturday invited the wrath of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). Her comment that she would speak in Hindi as the family hails from Uttar Pradesh was looked upon as an insult to the Marathi language. To avenge the insult, MNS Chief Raj Thackeray threatened to ban all films of the Bachchan family in Mumbai and Maharashtra.

After five days of protest, Raj Thackeray reconciled with the Bachchans on Thursday after Amitabh Bachchan apologised for his wife’s remarks. At a press conference on Wednesday evening, Mr. Bachchan stated that Mrs jaya Bachchan hurt the sentiments of the Marathi people inadvertently.

Mr.Thackeray stated that because of Amitabh Bachchan’s apology his party is withdrawing the agitation. He resented the fact that Jaya Bachchan didn’t attend the press conference but decided to accept apologies from Mr. Amitabh Bachchan as he is the head of the Bachchan family. Mr. Thacheray hailed it as a victory of the cause of Marathi people.
