Heavy rains in Nashik district and surrounding areas have claimed three lives. After the dry spell monsoon has been very active for the last one month. The citizens in rural as well as urban areas had to work hard to clear the water logged areas.

Ganesh festival is traditionally associated with rainfall. All the dams are flowing above the danger mark in the district. All people living in low level areas have been warned to watch the water level. Culvert near Anandvalli was closed due to flood water.

There was respite in the afternoon as it stopped raining for a while. The districts of Manmad, Chandwad and Yeola have welcomed the rain. However it is detrimental for the standing crops. Three deaths occurred in the district during thunderstorms. One person died after being electrocuted due to discharge of lightening. Two men died when the roof of their house caved in.
