Nashik gears up for festive season
With the festive season around the corner Nashikars are looking for some good times ahead. The festive season commences with the Navratri. The festival is looked forward to by the people for its colorful atmosphere.
A number of temples in the city are gearing up for the festival. The Kalika Mandir is thronged with devotees at this time. The biggest attraction to the common man is Garba. This tradition has been adopted by the people of Maharashtra. Garba provides a very good opportunity for the younger generation to move out of their houses to meet friends. A number of shops have put up colorful traditional dresses for sale.
Many classes are being run to teach how to do the traditional Garba dance. The festival has also provided opportunities to small time vendors. Small businesses like tent houses, tea stalls and small time caterers hope to rake in the moolah in this festive season.
Durga Pooja is also expected to be celebrated with pomp and gaiety in the city. The most important festival of Diwali will closely follow.
