Naseeruddin Shah ignores Presidential function
Actor Naseeruddin Shah finds politicians irritating and he made it evident skipping a function at Rashtrapathi Bhavan where a special screening of his film ‘A Wednesday’ was held in honour of the president, Pratibha Patil.
When contacted to know the reason of his absence, the actor blatantly said, “Yes, I stayed away from the screening. I’m just not interested in politicians. The film will go as far it has to go on its own steam. And as we can see, it has some steam!”
However, present at the screening were ‘A Wednesday’ actors Anupam Kher, Jimmy Shergill and director Neeraj Pandey. Talking to news daily, Anupam Kher said, “I don’t know. Naseer said he had some other commitments. We left it at that. The screening went brilliantly. Patil loved it and said everyone should watch the film 5-6 times.”
A Wednesday’ is a film based on terrorism, and the two 50-plus actors Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah have done a great job in the film. While Anupam is basking in the glory of his successful film, Naseer is keeping a low profile. Pratibha Patil is said to have liked the movie but she has not reacted to Naseer’s comments.
