Heroes, directed by Sameer Karnik is loosely based on the 2004 cult classic Diarios De Motocicleta (The Motorcycles Diaries) which in turn is adapted from the journals of Ché Guevara, the leader of the Cuban Revolution. Guevara recounts adventures he and Alberto Granado, his best friend, had while crossing South America on a motorcycle in the early 1950s.

In the movie two bosom pals, played by Sohail Khan(Sammy) and Vatsal Seth(Ali) travel a few hundred miles and undergo a life-changing journey. The two are inseparable pals. Sammy is more outspoken and jovial, Ali, quieter and mature. They embark on a journey to deliver three letters as part of a film school assignment.

During their road trip from Delhi to Chandigarh and then from Manali to Ladakh, Sammy and Ali come across real life characters played by Salman Khan, Preity Zinta, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol who leave a life changing impact in these two youngsters’ lives.

The film also stars Mithun Chakraborty, Dino Morea, Amrita Arora and Riya Sen. For the first time Salman Khan will be seen in a Sikh makeover, a Jat Sikh with a beautifully tied turban. The actor grew his beard for three weeks before the filming for an authentic Sikh look. Preity Zinta went through acting classes with Anupam Kher in order to perfect the rustic look.

The film, shot in Ladakh, Chandigarh and Delhi, is ready for release on October 24th.
