Hello fizzles out after good opening
Atul Agnihotri’s release Hello had all the right factors going well for it – but it still did not rise above the rest.
It was a solo release on the Pooja Holiday weekend, it had Salman Khan in a guest role, and was based on Chetan Bhagat’s best selling novel, One Night @ the Call center.
With all the buzz, it opened well especially in the multiplexes in Mumbai on Thursday, as it was a holiday for Dussehra.
The next day though, the initial collections averaged just 30 to 40 per cent, as the word-of-mouth buzz was extremely negative. The reviews also have been downers.
Nevertheless the team of Hello are planning to celebrate the good opening of their movie on Monday Night.
Mean while other movies also sank at the box office. Both Sanjay Gadhvi’s ‘Kidnap’ and Goldie Behl’s ‘Drona’ couldn’t gather steam after their dismal openings.
Although, ‘Kidnap’ has made its place in the duds of the year category, it has done a little better than ‘Drona’, which sank big time. ‘Ramchand Pakistani’ too didn’t make any waves.
