Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan- the war of the brands
Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are rivals in their acting profession, now they extend their rivalry to brand endorsements.
Aamir is the face of Tata Sky and Shah Rukh Khan endorses Dish TV.
Aamir takes his duties of endorsing seriously and was present at Tata’s Sky’s product launch on Tuesday.
Asked how he looks at the competition from Dish TV, Aamir joked and said, “Dish TV? Woh Kya Hai?”
To a question whether it becomes more difficult for him to act in advertisements when his adversary is Shah Rukh and Aamir said, “I don’t follow others. I do what I feel is right. I only concentrate on what I have to do.”
Asked if his brand was more for classes than the masses, Aamir replied, “That is not true. I believe in quality of the brand that is being promoted. I am a mass hero and I too have mass appeal.”
Behind the lighthearted missives , there is strong competition between the Khans.
Shah Rukh Khan delivered two super hits last year with Om Shanti Om and Chak De India while Aamir Khan impressed with his directorial debut Taare Zameen Par that is also going to the Oscars.
Shah Rukh Khan can boast of box office success and Aamir Khan of critical acclaim.
Now the rivalry spills over to brand endorsements.
