Super star Amitabh Bachchan was finally released after spending six days in hospital. He had been admitted to Lilavati hospital on his 66th birthday(October 11 ), complaining of abdominal pain.

“Doctors attending to him did their final check up this morning so that they could prescribe whatever medication he has to take and allowed him to go home,” Dr Naredra Tiwari, vice president Lilavati hospital told a new agency over telephone.

However, Tiwari refused to give details about the diagnoses and whether Bachchan would require any further treatment.

“I do not have any details on that as yet. I will know only in the evening once I have consulted with doctors attending to him,” he said.Dressed in white pathani suit and dark glasses, Bachchan came out of the hospital door to wave at the journalists and fans who had assembled there.

The actor has also spoken out on the illness for the first time, mentioning anxiety, pain and sleepless nights, in a post on his blog.Amitabh Bachchan, who has been a meticulously regular blogger ever since he started keeping an online journal more than 5 months ago, posted as many as five blog posts on Thursday night, but didn’t give away too many details of his health.

As a result of the hospitalization of one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, the shooting schedule of the entire Bachchan family has suffered a setback.

Abhishek Bachchan and his wife Aishwarya Rai were supposed to be in Kerala for Mani Ratnam’s film Ravana as also Bachchan, who was to shoot for his film Teen Paati in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, the family was in for some bad news when Aishwarya’s father, Krishna Raj Rai, was admitted on Wednesday night to Mumbai’s Hinduja hospital, after he fell seriously ill.
