Rock On Team to rock for Charity
The stars of Rock On! who won the hearts of the entire nation with their path-breaking movie, is all set to rock again- this time to raise funds for the victims of Bihar floods.
The team of Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal and producer Ritesh Sidhwani are going to be among the frontline Indian rock bands coming together to raise funds for the victim children of Bihar’s floods with a concert presented by Bombay Times at the MMRDA Grounds, Bandra-Kurla Complex, on October 31.
Called ‘Rock On For Humanity’, the concert is produced by Orange Juice Entertainment and supported by Bollywood’s biggies like Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Abhishek and Aishwarya Bachchan, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Priya Dutt and many more. The other bands who will perform live with the trio, include Pentagram, Parikrama, Pin Drop Violence, Dream Out Loud, Shaa’ir & Func, Rabbi, Kailasa and Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy along with Kunal Ganjawala, Shaan, and many others.
“When rock on was such a success I always used to flip through papers to see what more have they written about us and then I noticed the picture of this man standing with a kid, someone who has lost everything and then I thought to myself how selfish can I get,” said Arjun Rampal, actor.
Tuning his guitar strings, Arjun Rampal said, “My heart goes out for all those people who have lost everything in this catastrophe. I can never imagine what those small children who survived but lost their families in this incident are going through,” said the father of two. “Rock On For Humanity is an effort from our side to bring a smile on these children’s faces and work towards a better future for them,” he said about the Bombay Times initiative.
This concert is an attempt to bridge the gap through the power of music,” said lead vocalist and actor Farhan Akhtar. “Ritesh, Arjun and I strongly believe that music is what binds us together. It’s a great opportunity to bring people under one umbrella to help the unfortunate. Numerous children have lost their homes and parents in the floods, and as human beings, it’s our responsibility to make sure that they get all the love and care they deserve,” said Farhan.
“Nargis Dutt foundation is supporting this because when I went to Bihar I realized that how much ever we do it is never enough,” said Priya Dutt, MP.
Here is wishing the team success for a good cause.
