Amitabh Bachchan who is recovering from a short illness has agreed to star in Sanjay Dutt’s maiden production.

Sanjay Dutt had roped in director Soham of Kaal fame to direct the project, an action adventure and it will now feature a few A-list stars, led by Amitabh Bachchan.

When approached, Soham confirmed the news,” Yes, I am directing a film for Sanjay Dutt Productions. It’s an action adventure film called India. As for the cast, all I can say is that the film will have 5 major characters. Mr. Sanjay Dutt is in talks with Mr Amitabh Bachchan for one of the main characters but it’s yet to be finalized. We are also in talks with Zayed Khan for one of the characters. It’s too early to talk about the cast since we are still narrating the scripts to the actors.. The film should go on floors sometime in the middle of next year.”

Meanwhile Soham is busy wrapping up another movie, Luck starring Imran Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Ravi Kishan and Shruti Hassan. “Yes …Luck is almost 90% complete. I have one schedule to wrap up in South Africa in Jan 2009. Luck should be out in the summer of 2009, “ Soham revealed.

Looks like Soham has left behind the debacle of Kaal and is going places in Bollywood.
