Sania Mirza gets the better of Peer
Sania Mirza once again got the better of Shahar Peer of Israel- rated ninth seed- beating her 6-7(7), 7-5, 6-3. This got her to the fourth round in the Pacific Life Open being held in Indian Wells and also meant her third consecutive win against Peer in 4 meetings.
A pleased Sania remarked: “We always play tough matches, but it’s about finding a way to win.”
Currently ranked 32nd in the world, Sania was obviously pleased with her comeback after losing a keenly contested first set.
Sania Mirza ’s win means she will have to face Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia in the fourth round. Incidentally, the Slovakian is the defending champion in the tier one tournament which runs parallel to the ATP Masters Series event in Indian Wells.
