Golmaal Returns arrives with a bang
Golmaal Returns , the sequel to the 2006 blockbuster, has become a big money spinner at the box office.
It has netted over 42 crores in it’s first week (albeit a 9 days long) and the way this film directed by Rohit Shetty is going ahead, it is all set to be amongst the five top money spinners of all times
The astounding success of ‘Golmaal Returns‘ has brought the much-needed respite to the film industry after a practically ‘dry spell’ of luck, following poor box office response to big budgeted films.
Reacting to the success of the film, Rohit Shetty said that the box office response to ‘Golmaal Returns‘ is much bigger in comparison to the original film.
Actor Ajay Devgan, who played the lead role in the hit film, is revelling its success, and has announced part three in the series.
On his blog, the versatile actor wrote: “‘Golmaal Returns‘ has turned out to be one of the biggest films this year. I am thrilled to know that the film has collected more than Rs
34 crore in the first five days of its release. We are also proud to announce ‘Golmaal 3′”
He added: “For the time being we all are enjoying the super success of ‘Golmaal Returns‘ before we start working towards the next one.”
The film has gone well into the second week even though collections have been reduced; since the biggest chunk of collections have already come in the first week. However, because of little competition from films like EMI and Ek Vivah Aisa Bhi, it only has Fashion to compete with.
Golmaal Returns is looking at earning 70 crores. And if that happens, it would join the elite company of films like Singh is Kinng, Lagey Raho Munnabhai, Welcome, Om Shanti Om and Dhoom-2 that have achieved such numbers in the recent times.
