While he played the role of Raj to perfection in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge , Shah Rukh Khan does pay homage again to the great actor, Raj Kapoor in his Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

Firstly the simpleton character of Shah Rukh Khan (whose screen name is Surinder Sahni in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi) seems to be inspired by the simple, lovable vagabond played by the legend, Raj Kapoor in his Awara/Anari days. Shah Rukh apes the same soft soothing dialogue delivery that endeared Raj Kapoor to millions. Also the RK films logo of a couple also makes it appearance in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi promos.

Lastly there is an entire sequence in Rab ne.. that is dedicated to yester year actors including the Kapoor khandan. Starting from Raj Kapoor , his brother Shammi Kapoor to his son the inimitable Rishi Kapoor, the various generations of the Kapoor family are given homage in the superb musical track, Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte.

With this tribute to the first family of Bollywood, the movie promises to be enchanting. It releases on December 12th.
